Setting waypoints for Mavic Air 2

I'm curious - if using something like DroneLink on a programmed flight path, is the termination instantaneous, or is there some short buffer for the obvious loss of signal common place in RF? It seems a bit risky to have something abort just because you turned the controller away from the drone for a moment reaching for a water bottle.

Yes.

Connecting to the drone is done only once? Or, do you need to start the app of choice, perform the connect procedure, then fly?

Pardon what may be a dumb question, but Litchi announced that they now support waypoints for the MA2. I've used Litchi extensively on my original MA1 for the waypoint function. If I run one of my original missions, or create a new one, do I have to do anything specific to let Litchi know it is now controlling my MA2?
