Shaky gimbal - any fix?

Hi folks, while I was flying my Mavic Pro in a stone quarry, I accidentally sent it through a cloud of fine, abrasive dust. At the end, the gimbal was blocked in the up-down (Y axis) movement. Back home, I dripped some drops of a thin sunflower oil in the thin gap of the Y axis motor. No big improvement after this treatment. Then I sprayed a small quantity of WD40 in the same gap, and things went back almost to normal. The gimbal obeys to the up-down command (using the Function button, clicked downwards) but not always the stroke is complete, sometimes it stops at around 45-50 degrees, instead of the full 90 degrees expected. In addition to that, the gimbal - in flight - sometimes shakes wildly. If I do not touch the left wheel operating the gimbal tilt, it remains stable almost all the time, but as soon as I try to change the tilt angle, the gimbal goes wild again.
I suppose that there are still too many traces of WD40 in the movement. I am wondering if trying to dry up this area with clean air (from those pressurized cans used to clean lenses and photographic equipment) might remove the excess of lubrication.
Any suggestion, else than send it back for repair? Thanks a ton.

It sounds like there is still some grit in the works. WD40 will lubricate but unless you use a lot from a spray can, it will not flush out the particles. Perhaps a member experienced in repairs will suggest a cleaning procedure.

Thanks, yes, that's also my opinion. But before flooding it with WD40 I would like to see other options: the stuff is not friendly with certain plastics, and I do not know what's inside the gimbal's motors casings. Rather than melting something...

Agreed. Good call.
