So I’m going to be selling a drone and I’m wondering about shipping it. It has a hard case so I was wondering if I can just ship it in that? Or do I need to put it in a box?

You could, but I'd put it in a box so the hard case doesn't get scuffed up, and so nobody attempts to open the case and remove the contents.

The seller would prob appreciate it if you put the case in a plain box.

Throw it in a box, the buyer will appreciate that more and also gives it a bit more protection against the manhandling that occurs to packages in transit.

Use a box! I bought an Inspire 2 and the seller sent it in just the case when I got it, the case was empty and I had to go through hoops to get my money back.

Doesn’t really need to be boxed. You could wrap in some form of packing paper or use cardboard to wrap around the case itself. Put some wire ties on the latches to deter the folks that want to see what’s inside.
Sometimes, the correct size box may be hard to find and size does matter when shipping costs are calculated.
