The east portals of the Beavertail Tunnels on I-70 in DeBeque Canyon, a few miles up the Colorado River from Grand Junction, Colorado. The tunnels provide a shortcut across a loop of now-abandoned roadway which follows a large meander in the Colorado River. Still accessible from I-70, that vacated stretch of road offers a place for weary truckers to pull off and catch a few winks and for visitors to stop and observe the scenery in a safe, unhurried environment. It's also a great place to launch a drone.
