I've just been looking at a recent flight on air data and was surprised to see my signal strength didn't go above 64% and went as low as 25%, averaging 39%. I was around 1 km from any properties and my max distance was 150m. I was stood fairly close to my car but it was never between me and the MM. Do I have a problem or is this normal?

I don’t have a Mini, but my Air uses pretty much the same transmission system, and in the UK (CE mode) I'd say that’s fairly normal. These days 1km isn’t far enough to get away from all of the radio waves we generate, especially here in the UK as we’re relatively crammed in together.

The signal strength drops a factor calculated by the square of the distance, so twice as far will have 1/4 the signal strength. Think how quickly your home wffi pweformance drops as you move away from the router - same issue
