I apologize for being a doubter but:
I’m sure they have an IA on staff for inspections.
I’m not familiar with that wing but it looks like an intake of some kind by the way it’s painted.
I would be willing to bet that drone in the bag didn’t hit an aircraft.

I have no doubt that some yo-yo would attempt to fly his drone but red flags everywhere with this story

Funny, the only red flag I see is someone's overactive imagination.

The pictures I saw looked like a pretty decent repair, but ya never know. Duct tape with a little paint on it can look pretty good
