Smart Controller Screen Freezes

Went out flying this morning. Noticed when I was just a little ways away the screen would momentarily freeze. No message just a frozen image. Then it would appear to catch up. Video I was taking was fine. Only things around me were trees which I were well below me.

I am a fairly new drone pilot since February and have flown 50-75 times since then and did not have this issue until May it seems. I don't know whether it is a software or hardware issue, but it makes me nervous since it feels like I've momentarily lost control.

I read in another thread that changing the obstacle avoidance from Fly Around to Brake seems to fix the issue, although if you have to turn off a feature in order to solve an issue, then to me it is not fixed.

Air 2s, standard controller, iPad mini 6.
