When using Smart Oblique to capture, can you process the ortho/3D in the various processing software without additional manipulation of the photos?
Or do you have to process in DJI Terra only?

You can process in any photogrammetry solution that can use oblique images. Most do, I can confirm 100% on Pix4Dmapper, Pix4Dmatic and Agisoft Metashape.

How do you like Smart Oblique compared to a more traditional double grid with oblique images? I found that Smart Oblique took quite a bit more images and that these extra images do not always make for a better 3D model, but sometimes does.

Hi Jaja,

I loaded a smart oblique set into Pix4DMatic, and after the initial calibration, many points were floating in the air. A faint plane seemed to be visible in the sky. I selected the Oblique template. Is there anything else I need to do?

What drone were you using?

It should calibrate and make your sparse cloud with Model Template.

What was the area being modeled?
How high were you flying?
Did you use the default overlap seeting for Smart Oblique?
If you were using the RTK puck and receiving corrections, use the Trusted Location and Orientation Pipeline setting.
Did you choose the correct datum and coordinate system for the Images/Cameras?
Did you have Dewarp on or off?
