Hi,
Can any Smart Phone be used with controller to fly a mini2 ,??
im fed up of taking the protecting case off my Samsung S22

,do i really need a phone as powerfull,
can i use a cheaper one just for the drone//??

Why don't you up your screen real estate and use a tablet? Mine is a 10.5" Lenovo with a pgytech tablet bracket. Works great.

Over the years I've used many phones, all Android. Some have had SIM cards, others not. If you just use WiFi with an old phone you can still get updates and tether to your regular phone for live weather checks and map views. The word to find when reviewing older phones is "NITS" which shows brightness of the screen. You can get some good deals on an older phone with a good bright screen and not bother taking out your cell phone or missing calls while flying. Ask friends what they've done with their old cell phone. They might give one to you or sell it for little cost.

I'm using this Galaxy Tab A 8" from 2018 I believe. Couldn't be happier with it, and you can get one on eBay for less than $50.
