Connecting Long Island to it's barrier island and public beach is the Smith Point Bridge. It's a small drawbridge constructed in 1959 that sits between the narrows between Long Island's Moriches Bay and Great South Bay.
A fair portion of the area and homes have been upgraded. The park itself is exactly the same. They are planning to build a new bridge with construction scheduled for later this year.Very Nice. Gosh it has been over 40 years since I've visited that area. Looks like it hasn't changed much
