Even with the latest precision RTH, it doesn’t hurt to practice a manual return to home.

I’m confused. Wasn’t that a video of a launch?
And yes, you are very brave to be able to fly with all those obstacles growing out of the ground.

I’m talking about thinking before you launch, this is going to be your RTH reference.

it goes to show that pre flight checks should include where you are taking off from and to avoid trees or high structures in case RTH kicks in i hope others get it as well

I’m also saying you can launch from wherever you like and totally ignore the option of precision RTH if you practice coming home manually, and monitor you battery.

Except there's always a possibility of a connection issue, and there you'd be screwed. Always good to keep in mind.

RTH is still good to return with until connection returns, I totally agree with that... just take control at the landing site and land the AC manually.

really it all boils down to the fact that you should practise manual landing and controlling your drone and not just to rely on the auto functions and be aware of your surroundings at all times
