Have you heard this story of the big drone Race
When robot quads were settin' the pace.
That story is true,
And I’ll let you know
I was flyin' that Mavic Pro.
I call it my Lincoln
And it's really souped up.
And that Mavic style makes it look pretty tough
It's got four props; uses them all.
It's got sports selection, just won't stall.
With a front mounted camera that is really boss,
With a satellite connection
You can never get lost.
It's got downward sensors, but I ain't scared.
She hovers good; landings fair.
Pulled up in the boonies late one night
The moon and the stars was shinin' bright.
I was flyin' up Grapevine Hill
Passing Karma drones like they was standing still.
All of a sudden in a wink of an eye
A Phantom drone passed me by.
I said, "Boys, That's a mark for me!"
By then his strobe light was all I could see.
Now the fellas was ribbin' me for bein' behind,
So I thought I'd make the Mavic unwind.
Pushed the throttle up and man alive,
I shoved it on down into sports mode drive.
Wound it up to try and catch em again,
My velocity said that I hit top end.
My thumb was blue, it was really sore.
That's all there is and there ain't no more.
Big Al from the forum thought I'd lost my sense,
Cause flyin over cars is a federal offence.
He said, "Slow down! I see spots!”
“The video screen just look like dots."
Hit a tree; side swiped the trunk,
My fingers moved like I feelin drunk.
My props was clickin' the small limbs most.
Dirkclod my spotter was white as a ghost.
Smoke was comin' from my quad out the back
As I began to close on that Phantom maniac.
Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass.
But it seemed like my battery would never last.
Thomas B yelled, “I was about out of sight”.
I felt the tension… Man!... What a flight!
As my strobes began to fade in the dark
I decided my next move wouldn’t be very smart
I said, "Watch this boys, I've got LAANC to fly!"
And that phantom pulled over and let me by.
Next thing I found I was close to the ground
So I panicked a bit as I turned her around.
Now all of a sudden she started to knockin',
And down in the dips she started to rockin'.
I looked at my screen; a red light was blinkin'
The power was gone in my Hot Rod Lincoln!
Well she fell from the sky and hit a car
So I called my lawyer; I wouldn’t get far.
I sat there cryin and started to thinkin
Troubles a-brewin with my hot rod Lincoln.
They arrested me and they put me in jail.
And called my pappy to throw my bail.
And he said, "Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin'
If you don't stop flyin' that Hot... Rod... Lincoln!"
