Speed Test!

I was buzzing around the canyon a few days ago, and I decided to do a speed test! My flying environment offers vast, unobstructed open spaces for such things.

Conditions:

Mini-2
Elevaton 5000 ft MSL
Temp 85 deg F

So I went to one end of my virtual drag strip, got into position in Sport mode, and just put the pedal to the metal.

Straight and level, flat out, I stabilized at a shade over 22 mph.

It doesn't sound like much when you just read the number, but when you see the little zipper bombing along at 22 mph, it looks PLENTY fast!

Yes, agreed. Should go even faster at lower altitudes and cooler temps.?

Did you try it in the opposite direction to see that speed so you could average the results of the two?

35 mph in sport mode, 22 mph in cine or normal mode.

That was back in February and I was in Sport Mode trying to top it out and so far 36.4 M.P.H. was my highest top speed I'm going to wait until I have no wind at all and try for 37 M.P.H. God Bless You Guys Sincerely Clay B.

AirData...are you also using all of the speed etc data there? Have also found a good emergency dive that reduces altitude a lot faster. Forward motion with the left stick down reduces altitude much faster than just bringing it down in a stationary mode.

it doesn't work that way with a drone. Speed is limited downwind. Easy to prove with Airdata
