As many of you might know we took off in Storm last night , but struggled on the take off .
We had preset the Sport mode switch ahead of the take off to give us some extra power to get past the 35 mph winds.

When we attempted to lift off in the Storm the drone had no extra power and no sport mode speed.

The problem was that when we switched it to Sport mode the following day I assumed it would be in Sport Mode since the mode was still switched into Sport mode but when we took off we had no extra boost or power or speed.

The Answer :
We had to switch back and than switch again to Sport mode and we were good to go.

We use sport mode to fight the wind on take off and to land in heavy wind
We also use Sport mode to dip the Front of the Drone giving us a Quick Visual of the top of the drone
which can be seen rather far away if you have a Light on Top of the drone.

If you dont have a light you can also dip the drone in sport mode to see the Color Front top of the Drone with a Neon Wet Suit or a Skin if visual .

Lesson learned on the Air 2.

Notice how the Lume Cube that sits on top of the Drone becomes visible when you dip the drone using Sport Mode , either back or forward.
Just a few tricks that pay off nicely while trying to be discrete in take offs in the middle of the night and keep a visual of the drone.

That the Sport mode setting is ignored upon bootup is a known issue which exists for safety purposes on all DJI aircraft, in case the switch got inadvertently moved during transport. As you state, to enable Sport mode, you must first start from N mode, by switching back to it, from Sport mode, if you booted up in Sport mode. Worthy of repeating, for those that thought Sport mode should survive a reboot.
