SquareTrade Wouldn't Insure Smart Controllers. Alternatives?

Hey there,

Has anyone had any luck insuring their Smart Controller with an extended warranty service provider for consumer electronics? I have many electronics insured by SquareTrade, and today in a chat session (since I didn't know under what category to insure it, so I asked), SquareTrade told me that they will not be able to cover the item at all.

I've never had an electronic device not be able to be covered by SquareTrade. I thought that perhaps it would fall under "Tablet" or something similar... but, no. So, I'm looking for an alternative. If there is no extended warranty service provider, I suppose I'll inquire with my home insurance provider.

Does anyone know if you can buy Refresh for a Smart controller? I just checked DJI's page and the Smart Controller is not listed.

State Farm will let you add it to a personal articles policy.

Would that also cover damage? I have State Farm theft/loss for my M2P and DJI Refresh for damage. Thanks!

Yes, the SF policy covers damage.

Just call and add it to your policy. I have almost 3k covered for the $60.00 policy. I added, the extra batteries, moverio glasses, the carrying case and now the smart remote.
