My Mavic Pro controller sometimes has a STICK ERROR. I heard about the use of an iPad mini could distort the case causing a stick error. I also heard about magnets causing the error.
I do use an iPad mini but it does not seem to cause the problem. A curious thing that I found is if you start the controller in the laying down position, that is with the sticks vertical, it starts beeping ( I hate that BEEP) and shows STICK ERROR. If I start my controller standing up, that is with the sticks horizontal, it starts fine! NO STICK ERROR and works correctly, even when moved in any other orientation or position. This start up works the same with an iPad mini attached or unattached with the holders folded. I have not tried flying it to see if there is a drift with the sticks untouched.
I have not been able to recalibrate using the DJI Assistant because I cannot get that App to connect. Any one have any ideas? Who knows what evil resides in this complex little bugger:)

As @BD0G said, use DJI Go 4 to calibrate and then see if you still get stick errors.

I have never seen even one controller lose its stick calibration permanently due to magnetism. The sticks are extremely well insulated from interference.

I used to get stick errors from my Mavic Pro remote when the sticks would get mashed in a direction in my backpack. Getting a remote guard that protected the sticks resolved my issue. Might be worth a look. The remote can be pretty sensitive sometimes. Good luck!

You can calibrate the remote controller using DJIGO4 and dont use Assistant 2.
Thanks! I had forgot which method one calibrates the Controller. However after doing a calibration successfully, it still gets stick errors unless I hold the controller vertical upon startup! Go Figure!
