Stopping video before shutting down

I know the fix for an unplayable movie is to put the SD card back in, turn on, turn off and that closes the file.

I use Olympus software on the PC to copy all files since the last copy which copies all the new images and movies off my mini's SD card. It also copies the last file saved from the previous cut.

Checking the SD card files, whenever you turn on the mini, it closes the last movie and updates it's timestamp.

Maybe they found it easier to fix the (user) issue of not ending a movie before it shuts down by making sure it's closed on boot.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they couldn't perform a "close" operation before shutting down, maybe as part of what it does when you first press the button and it's waiting for a long press. Anyway, I'm pretty forgetful, so I try to remember to turn the Mini on and off again before I pack it away, just in case.

It happened to me three times not stopping recording and shutting down the bird. Went home after to download it and everything was fine luckily. Don't know if has something to do with the fact that i always format the card in the drone before each flight ??

I usually forget to stop recording and it's never closed the file properly. Luckily the boot fix worked every time but I might put a reminder on the underside of the mini ?

I hate it when I think it's recording but it's not... until I hit the button to "stop" and then it records just fine.

They could make RECORDING more obvious - larger timer or something.

Yes a larger Icon in the Fly App. How about a large red film reel that spins when it's recording?

Better still, an option to start recording automatically on take-off

In addition to a feature that stops the video recording on the Fly App to close out the file when you turn off the aircraft before stopping the video recording.
