I was flying a real estate gig this morning when the MP2 started acting up. This is the first time my bird has been anything other than impeccable in how it responds, flies or holds position.

After taking a batteries worth of pictures and videos in windy and gusty conditions with full sun and temps in the mid 90s I landed and swapped batteries.

Shortly thereafter the M2P stated acting up, it would suddenly change yaw and or pitch without input. It seemed to be staying in place but several attempts to frame shot result in jumping in yaw and gimbal pitch. Since I had most footage I wanted, and needed to get on to interior shots I landed and called flying for the day without further investigation.

Don't know if the M2 or iPad got too hot. Anyone else care to comment on a similar episode?

What comes to mind right away is the swapping of batteries. Its easy to miss updating them, is that possible ?

“in windy and gusty conditions...” probably had something to do with it, especially if it was hot. Perhaps you were dealing with even a passing dust devil that you couldn’t see, they are often silent and transparent if there are not any leaves, trash or dirt to pick up.

Was the SD card getting full? It doesn't sound plausible but I have read about full or inadequate SD cards causing erratic gimbal movements.

Thanks for the replies.

Batteries updated.
Almost empty 128 card that has worked fine for months.

After looking for and at the flight logs I think I know the problem. I had been trying to use a fight app from Skywatch a drone liability insurance company. It appears that I may have switched into and been using this app when my problems appeared.

I found a strange folder with a different file format in the Records folder that the viewer cannot read.

In earlier flights I had found this app buggy with the M2. In my panic at the unusual behavior I didn't make that correlation and just landed and called it a day. I think I will just have to avoid that app until they have it working correctly for the M2.

Case closed for now, thanks.

Not trying to reopen the case but do have a question about Skywatch if thats ok.
I am curious to know if the Skywatch app has to be running and connected to the M2 while in use.
I was thinking about using it but have heard no feedback. Thanks...

It will open and show your location without connection to the M2. Seems to need a internet connection though. Cannot find any useful documentation about it.
