If I am very happy with the features and functions of this model, but I would like to do away with using my phone as the screen, what would be the suggested model to upgrade to to get the all inclusive transmitter?

I use a iPad mini 5 with mine. Zero problems. I use the HoodMan base for a sunshade at times. Adapter is needed for using this setup.
Great drone, very reliable and great fun to fly. I use a landyard as well, heavier than the iPhone setup. Mine went obsolete and failed to work so that’s why switched to the iPad.

Until you upgrade, you could purchase the RM500 remote that is compatible with the MA2.

You'll get a better drone and controller if you upgrade in the future since the MA2 is an older drone.

I have a MA2 and still enjoy flying it with my standard controller and a TriplTek tablet.

Have fun shopping. :)

I did ask DJI about this option, but they advised it was not compatible. Rather confusing.

Use this link to access DJI’s very own compatibility chart. You will see The Smart Controller is for the M2 and MA2.

Sorry, but I must be reading it wrong, but it refers to the 2S, not the Mavic air 2

It is confusing. I thought I chose the correct one. Sorry about that.

Do you still need to use it with the transmitter. If so, how do you attach to transmitter?
Mine will only accept the size of a mobile.

They make after market mounts that will work with the controller to fit lager screens.

I use the Lifthor mount from Thors Drone World for my TriplTek tablet.

I customized my case to accept the rig without having to take it apart for storage.

No problem, thank you

Yes I use a adapter mount for the transmitter so I can attach the iPad to the mount. The mount is spring loaded just the transmitter. It’s a bit awkward but works very well for me.

Just did a search, found a nice adapter that places the iPad over the transmitter, keeping the CofG central.

Get yourself a neck lanyard. They help alot when flying with lager platforms.
