Can’t speak to 30 years ago, but the crowds were not that bad, especially considering they were just there for a 2 week window to see the flowers. We spoke to a couple land owners who said this is the first year in a long time that cattle have been brought back to some of the ranches.I used to work out there during the summers about 30 years ago before it became a national monument, it was just cowpies and dirt back then during the drought years and we always had it all to ourselves. Nice to see it this way but also scared to see the crowds! The Carrizo Plain is surely a beautiful place, and it’s hard to believe that the Central Valley once looked like it too.
