Tariff charging is getting worse

Good article but I think it leaves out a couple of options. For whatever reason, seems many packages are imported just fine with no customs fees or tariffs at al regardless if it's right or wrong. Kinda sucks that some people are getting hit so hard.

And then there are packages where the fees are unnecessarily collected, I think the article hinted at that. I am almost positive some of the common carriers are [over] charging customs and keeping that money in essence taking advantage of some people. I bet we have a scandal uncovered in the future, there's just too much money and no process or accountability in the system for this to be on the up and up. Kinda like covid loans, it's just a bad bad idea and there's bound to be some fraud.

Either way, Costco is fed up and if SCOTUS won't make the call, perhaps the lower courts will:

That "article" is nowhere near what my actual experience was, but that's hardly surprising given the source.

I purchased a Mavic 4 Pro from a Korean seller on eBay. A tad less than $2K, and it arrived in 2 days. This seller had the usual alerts about additional fees, but the drone arrived way faster than I would have ever imagined, with no additional fees needing to be paid prior to delivery.

A couple weeks later I got a bill from FedEx for $80. I happily paid it, and am beyond satisfied. Politics aside, companies are not going to make the huge investments needed to manufacture things in the US unless or until the playing field is brought somewhere near level. It's just that simple.

The source? What sources do you trust?Do you feel that your 1 experience is indicative of the big picture?
