I decided to try the Anzo Raptor battery for my DJI Mavic 3E. After all, it is (mostly) the same part number and significantly less expensive.
It came in a box that said Mavic 3 with no D, J, or I letters anywhere on it nor on the battery itself.
A little skeptical, I decided to test it, hovering as low as I could over grass, for 35 minutes, down to 17%, about 50 degrees F outside, battery temperature peaking at the end around 97deg F. I watched the voltages on each cell. Up until this test, I don’t recall ever seeing cell voltages with a split greater than .03 volts, .01/.02 being the normal max difference.
This vomit green beauty, having zero cycles flexing her guns for the first time ever, had a cell voltage max spread of .06 between the highest and lowest cells. As the battery depleted, the strongest cell slowly grew a bigger diference while the weakest cell slowly caught up to the normal cells, still with a .03 spread at the end.
I’m not sure if I should return this battery or not. What is the max diference between cells these batteries can have and be safe to use? Maybe I should have chat’d with DJI about this first? Hmmmmm.
The Battery may be a disgusting color but it fits perfect and hovered for 35 minutes which I find perfectly acceptable. That voltage diference has my skin crawling, my spidey senses tingling, and my Hmmmmmm meter pegged.
