The abandoned Airth castle. A drone tour around this fantastic building that until fairly recently was a fully functioning hotel. The owners simply shut the doors, walked away and have left the building to the elemnents. Sadly the vandals have started to arrive so I thought I'd capture it before the inevitable happens. Hope you enjoy the video.

Criminal waste of a beautiful building.... guess what's number one on my lotto hit-list now... 😁

Great video. Well shot & edited. Bravo.

Awesome video. Well put together. It's sad to see such a place go to waste.

Thank you. Filming it was literally a very last minute thing. Was passing through and remembered the media story that had been put out a couple of weeks earlier saying the place had been burnt to the ground. Clearly that wasn't true.

Beautifully flown and edited. What a disgrace by the current / last owners. They should be held accountable.

It is a category A listed building, which means Historic Environment Scotland and the local council will have:

i) a thick list of non-negotiable requirements for repair/renovation and...

ii) an even thicker list of what can't be done to the building/estate.

All of the first list will come with a hefty price tag because it is 'heritage' work. You'll probably find that the owners abandoned it because they couldn't afford to put the structural faults right and they couldn't get the permissions to alter the building to fit in with their requirements. Seen this a few times with Grade I and Grade 2* listed buildings in England.
