I haven't had any bird encounters with my Mavic, but a couple with fixed wings.
Slope soaring a Zagi wing attracted a pair of hawks that stooped on it a couple of times. The best avoidance maneuver was a tight loop that got on their "6", which confused them enough they gave up.
I lost a 1.5 m electric glider, which didn't survive a hit on the left wing. The talon marks in the balsa were pretty impressive.
I've had as many as 6 hawks circling in the same thermal as one of my 2 m sailplanes, but they were just working the same lift I was.
