The police took my drone at the airport in Morocco because i didn´t declare it be arriving to the country, and i think it´s gone for ever :( /they found my drone in my backpack/, so i decided to do something, something what nobody would do, and something that no one else would believe that it´s gonna work.... i wrote a letter and made a video to the Moroccan King - Mohammed VI. and asked him to help me toget my drone .. I need your support... Please share it ..... to help my to get my Mavic back.... i gave him a name Franky ,because of Frank Sinatra - Fly me to the moon :)
My drone was built to fly, and not to stay somewhere in the office at the Moroccan airport.... :(

Its not sitting idle in an office. Some Moroccan Officials Kid is flying it. Or perhaps the official themselves. It would be a hoot if the King sends you a letter back that links a Y O U T U B E video of him doing Point of Interest shots of his castle while deep belly laughing.

I’m sure in some countries the gear you refer to as ‘confiscated’ is actually ‘voluntarily Abandoned Property’. See ‘small print’.

It usually becomes government property and is donated, sold or disposed of.

However, I’m sorry you lost your mavic. You should probably declare it next time.

Best of luck

Unfortunately, the US is among a handful of countries (perhaps the only) that has a legal right against cruel and unusual punishment. In the US, confiscation for what amounts to a paperwork violation would not pass constitutional muster as grossly excessive.

I imagine in some places like Romania the penalty for failing to declare your drone is something like 30 years hard labor (JK ;)).
