Interesting how many of our rivers are industrial corridors, isn't it?
The post-industrial economy hit here in SW New Hampshire long ago too. Many old textile mills dot the small towns in this area. Fortunately most of them have been adaptively re-used. Harrisville is a great example. Here's a pic I've posted before, but worth another look. All the buildings in the picture are still in use, some as artist studios.No, that area is fine for flying. Makes sense regarding the rivers and their importance to industry. You head inland and can find lots of towns in disrepair that once had important textile industries along water ways - now they are no more.
