Also keep in mind that Pixel peeping test chart shots is a pursuit in itself and as legitimate an interest as anything might be for those who are excited by it. A photographer will produce a better artwork with a mobile phone than many might hope to achieve with the best gear available. The paints don’t make the artist.Bear in mind that a good interesting photo is a good interesting photo. A little softness from having the aperture a little to wide or narrow isn’t going to make a difference to the impact in most occasions.
Sure if you’re shooting for a billboard it will be a factor but 9/10 there are hundreds of other far more important variables to consider.
Note I’m not necessarily aiming this at the OP but if people stumble across the thread who are new to photography they may go away with the impression the f no. is going to make a massive difference.
At altitude and distance it isn’t going to have much of an impact.
to add to what CanadaDrone wrote - one needs to realize what this aperture control is actually useful for, on the drone. control of DOF is not the major need, as it was already stated.F/4 although not much of a difference when opening up to F/3.5 or F/2.8.
F/5.6 also totally fine but don’t go beyond that.
