Thread Lock

I didn't use the screws that came with the spare props when i changed mine after a crash as i didn't realise it was important now i know it is i am thinking of using a drop of thread lock as i have been told in the forum the new screw have this applied, could i ask members which they use or would recommend, thanks.

I wish i had seen this post before ordering, oh well i ordered the 222 as it says its especially suited to small thread sizes i am sure it'll be fine.

You might be able to change the order to blue before it ships ? That is what DJI use.
Purple might be fine, but I wouldn't call the continued attachment of a prop a 'non-crucial application' !

I cannot change it now, where does it say "non-crucial" applications
I went for the 222 because it says - Prevents loosening on vibrating assemblies, e.g. pumps, gear boxes or presses for small fasteners under 6.35 mm.

....bottom of your first post ! But don't worry about it. Purple will be better than nothing.
The important thing is that you didn't get green or red !!

I missed that in the original post, i will check the screws before i fly and when i am swapping batteries when i first use it to be on the safe side..

I once used the red on a motorcycle never used that again

Thanks for that! I just checked my toolbox and I have 271 and 262. I suppose I should order some 222?

Those you have are a little "heavy" for the small screws on the prop they are meant for larger size fasteners.

222 is a small screw thread locker it sets hard enough to not come loose, and you won't strip the screw head trying to remove them.
Just make sure you shake the bottle well before use....

Thanks, i have no doubt i would have got some on the plastic.
I had a new set of props delivered i may just take all the screws out and use the new ones in the new packs there are 3 screws in each pack so i have 12 and only need 8.

The new screwdriver has arrived and it really is much easier to use than the supplied one which i found a little on the short side.

I have now replaced all the screws with new ones and am charging the batteries ready for the weekend, happy days.

I compared the old screws to the new ones under a strong magnifying glass and as someone mentioned elsewhere they are pre thread-locked so always use the * new ones in the new pack of blades.

*I didn't notice the new screws in the blade pack that's why i put the old ones back in.
