Tilt function on Mavic Air 2?

Can anyone explain how to use the tilt and pan functions on MA2?

(1) The knob above your left index finger tilts the camera up and down.

--or--

(2) place your finger on the middle of the phone's screen for a second or two > a dot shows up on the screen >drag that dot around on the screen and the camera will follow the motion of the dot.

Can anyone explain how to use the tilt and pan functions on MA2?

The idea behind the Tilt and Pan is that it can be much smoother with your finger going across the screen than you making the small turn with the drone. You can also change the speed of the gimbal to help with that, If your flying in the rain you want the gimbal fast and if you Cine Flying you want it very very slow.
