I am new to video editing but have managed to crop and add sound and upload to YouTube, they look very amateur but i got a buzz out of getting my first drone footage onlie on YouTube and i have got a couple of positive comments which i was amazed at, one thing I don't like is when you crop parts of the video you get a jump from one to another that doesn't look good I'm there a tool in YouTube that can smooth the transition if not how do members do it, thanks in advance.

I don't know about a YouTube editor. There is free video editing software out there that allows a variety of transitions between cuts of a video.
I've using Capcut (free). There are tutorials on YT to help learn it, but most of it is pretty intuitive.

If you like to learn and want a powerful NLE then check out Davinci Resolve....free for the basic version. Steep learning curve but don't let it intimidate you and your perseverance will pay off.

Thanks I have tred a couple of free ones like capcut and have found you can only download in 1080 (I may have missed a setting) so need to find one that will do 2.7k, will Devinci Resolve do that?

" While 2.7k isn't included as a preset resolution for delivery, at the top of the Resolution dropdown you can choose "Custom" and manually enter your 2704x1524 dimensions."

I tried Davinci Resolve and found it a bit of a steep learning curve for a beginner so went back to Capcut which i found the easiest too use so far, cutting and adding transitions is really easy and i have now found you can export up to 4K, as you can see below i am using 2k which works great.

And now your a newbie editor expert. Seriously seems like someone asks at least once a month which editor to use and now you have some great experience / perspective for the newbie drone pilot / editor. What's your channel?

I wouldn't call myself an expert but i have found one editor that was recommended in the forum that is a lot easier for a noob to get on with than Davinci Resolve its down to personal choice at the end of the day.

Having been told here in the forums my videos are boring, transitions are for noobs and the colours in them are dull i will save you the pain of viewing them, I am enjoying the learning curve and that's all that counts.

What the hell, this was my second outing with out of the box gimbal and Yaw settings (hence jerky turns etc) i have now set those to a members recommendations so with luck it'll all be smoother next time out.

I find the old limestone quarries of great interest there is small cave 2/3 along the vertical wall and a Bronze Age stone circle, the lack of trees up there is also a big plus as i was learning how to fly (still am)

I dont mind constructive criticism but think certain members need to remember they were not all brilliant pilots and photographers from day one it is quite a steep learning curve.

Beautiful place to fly and great shots. You are lucky. Don't be afraid to use a good phone or camera to get some ground shots too. A nice mix can really increase the appeal of your videos.
