Transmission signal loss test?

Curious if you've forced a transmission signal loss and how you did it. I have 100 flights and no transmission signal loss event, but would be interested in testing it under controlled conditions. I'd like to do it at about 50m distance on a field I use.

I'm guessing most just turn off the controller, but wasn't sure if that would mess up the app, requiring restarting it. I guess the other way is to put a can over the antennas to block the signal, that shouldn't affect the app.

I wanted to know this function worked before I really started using my mavic. I just turned off the controller and the aircraft performed exactly as it should and conducted a RTH. I have also had it lose contact with the controller for real twice now and it conducted a RTH as it should. So I have confidence in this safety feature.
