Traveling to cancun

Okay so it's my understanding that traveling to cancun with the mavic pro is absolutely legal and the only real law in Mexico is that you can't fly at night. Just wondering if anybody has traveled recently and describe your situation with regards to them checking your bags. Should I hold the mavic in a case in plain sight I am assuming? Is their any chance they will confiscate it?

You can take your Mavic in your carry on, they may check it but you shouldn't have any issues like any camera and accessories.
