Traveling to Colombia, South America with a Mavic Pro...

Hey all !
I'm going to Colombia next month and I hesitate ... do I take my mavic ?
Is it ok to fly there ? (law and safety)
Where did you guys have been ?

To those of you who brought your drones, did you bring it in your carry on or checked luggage? Just want to make sure I don’t screw up before I even get to Colombia. Thanks!

Hey fellas, so I’m currently in Colombia and no issues bringing my MP with me anywhere. I brought it as carry on luggage and US/Colombian screeners did not bat an eye or question anything.
I have even traveled in a national flight without any issues.
This country is great for flying but as always the less conspicuous you are the better for all...

How was your experience overall flying at various locations.

I found that people are very curious about these machines, specially out in the country.
I was not hassled it bothered by anyone.
I had good GPS constantly but cell signal was spotty at times for rapid map downloads.
I bought a SIM card to use one of the local carriers for the data.
Don’t worry about travel with the drone.
Just don’t be that “gringo”....
Medellin has great places to shoot. Enjoy!!
