TTI mode?

ATTI (or 'Attitude') mode is the indication that the Mavic has not - or not yet - got enough GPS satellite fixes to maintain its stability. The Mavic will try to put itself into 'P' (Positional) mode when-ever it can. One way of getting the Mavic to operate half-way toward ATTI, is to switch to sport mode. However, though this does switch off some sensors, the Mavic will still try to acquire as many satellites as it can to use to maintain stability and report its position. If the drone does go into ATTI mode, then you do need to be aware that it will require constant attention and hands-on flying until it re-acquires the sat's and goes back to GPS 'P' mode.
Not that I'd recommend doing it, but there is apparantley - a setting that can be changed to enable you to put a Mavic Pro into ATTI - but I don't know if it would work for a Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom:

How to Get Atti Mode on Your Mavic Pro - Drone U™

Thanks for the quick response didn't expect it would be so quick. That seems like a lot of work to get into just to switch... Was hoping for a quick off pc type of thing but I now have a lot more understanding. I'll keep this just in case I want to dare it later though. Thanks again!

It's not a lot of work. It's actually quite easy.

No, just one time to change what the switch does.
Unless you want to get sport mode back that is.

So, change it to TTI and leave it there, don't bother switching it back unless you want sport mode, is this what your saying?

You asked a question about how to keep it in Atti mode which is what he is referring to but I have a feeling you don’t actually want atti mode.

Atti mode is when the drone has no idea where it is and will not stay in one place if the wind blows and has no “brakes” it will continue in the direction it’s heading till you fly it in another direction or it loses inertia: It’s very easy to crash if you don’t have practice in this mode. Some people like this for smoother video and some other highly specific purposes.

When you turn on the Mavic for the first time in s new location it has to find satellites to acquire a GPS lock. Kinda like when you turn on your phone on after a long flight it sometimes takes a second or two for the phone to find cell service. Same thing with the drone just for GPS.

If you look at the DJI Go app it will tell you how many satellites it has found. It usually takes like 11 or 12 sats before the drone feels like it knows it’s location accurately enough to navigate. Having too few sats and using them to navigate can give a pilot a false sense of comfort because the pilot might fly normally not realizing the drone doesn’t have good enough reception to do what it normally can. So instead it shows TTI or atti mode.

You can take off in this mode if you want but if there’s a nice breeze going you will need to compinsate for the wind to keep it in place. Or, and this is what I recommend, just wait a few seconds till it gets reception then take off.

STOP reading if you are satisfied with that explaination.

However if you have a specific task that you’d like to do that would be better if the drone DIDNT have GPS at all, example would be flying indoors, then we can show you how to modify your remote to give you this capability on command. You would be trading either your SPORT mode for ATTI mode, OR tripod mode for ATTI mode.

Let us know if you are still confused

When I say modify I mean there’s a setting you can change and it’s easy to do.

Wow, nicely put! Thanks for all this info... I have seen cases that like you mentioned, indoors or let's say maybe cave flying where there is absolutely no way for signal and if it is cave flying than wind would not be an issue. I would however like to practice some in TTI mode so that if I'm in a situation like this I would not fear the flight..... Being able to easily switch back and forth would be a plus. I do understand that some functions would no longer be available and it would more or less be like trying to fly one of those $25 drones you get at Wal-Mart... Just don't want to have to go back and forth on pc to do this. Don't always have internet capability for my lap top and I'm never in one place... Truck driver.

Ok what you’ll need to do first is download DJI Assistant 2 1.1.2, I like this website.

If you already have another version of Assistsnt 2 you’ll need to uninstall it. This only works with version 1.1.2.

Then follow the steps in This to enable developer mode. Except you don’t have to do the first part where he tells you to download note++. The standard note pad apps that come preinstalled on Mac or PC work just as well. He must know the guy who made note++ or something.

Once you have enabled debug mode like it shows you in the video, plug in your mavic to the computer and and enter the device in Assistant 2.

On the left side is the menu bar and you scroll down to “parameters.” He also shows you this in the video.

There is a search bar on the parameter page. If you want to trade tripod mode for Atti mode(what I would recommend) you want to find the parameter called

g_config_control_control_mode[0]=12

Then you’ll want to change that 12 to a 3 and press enter.

If you want to change sport mode to atti mode find parameter called

g_config_control_control_mode[1]=8

And change that 8 to a 3 and press enter.

Done! To undo go back into assistant 2 find the parameter you changed and then click reset on that parameter.

Let us know how it goes!

Oh and if you are losing control in atti mode your “panic button” is just switching the switch on the remote back to normal mode. Assuming you are in a place where GPS is possible(so not in a cave) then the drone will immediately take over and brake if you let go of the sticks.

Thanks guys. I'm going to give this a shot. It may be a while. I'm on some runs now that don't give me a much fly time and there is not much on these routs s far as room to fly. ATTI not TTI whew, got it (won't make that mistake again)! Everyone's help is greatly appreciated..
