Unable to select blade or any editing tools in Davinci

Ok, I know this is going to be a duhhh moment but I'm stuck. While editing a short d-log video in DR 18 I need to split a clip in Timeline 1 but none of the edit tools will highlight. I did some clip highlight balance, some color correction and I have three serial nodes. Did I change a preference I shouldn't have? I have used the blade tool several times in the past but in this new project I need to use it but can't select it. TIA.

With the little information and context you give, it is difficult to know what might be going on and to try to figure out how to help.

If you still have the problem, I suggest you cut the clips in the media tab.

If you are in the edit room of Resolve, just touch the “B” key and then hover over your clip and it will cut the clips when you select or touch them. To go back to regular editing and navigation with your cursor, select the “A” key and continue on. Hope this helps.
