Unattended charging

Is is ok to leave factory charger and battery connected and not unplug household power?
The involved equipment understands how to sleepmode once fully charged and still powered by ac line power, right?

I wouldn't ever leave lithium batteries charging unattended, unless you have them in a fire-proof environment.

It's okay if all works as expected. However, in the rare chance that things don't go as planned, houses sometimes burn to the ground.

It’s all OK when safety features work as intended but if things go wrong you may have no house.
When lithium batteries go boom they do it in style.

Bad things happen when there are two or more credible faults. 1. Laptop battery, 2. Office Fire detection/suppression system.
UPS 747-44AF crashed on Sept. 3, 2010, near Dubai. 1. Lithium battery shorted in shipping container. 2. Smoke overcame pilots before oxygen system deployed. 3. Container burned through floor severing both fly by wire and redundant fly by wire systems.
