I bought a Spark Fly More Combo back in the spring for my birthday, it was my first “real” quadcopter beside a couple indoor Syma quads. I Learned quite a lot with my Spark and made a few nice videos with it. Recently I’ve had the itch to upgrade and bought a lightly used Mavic Pro Platinum. As I waited the couple days for it to arrive I went though all kinds of emotions lol. A bit of buyers remorse, some sadness towards my beloved Spark etc. I originally thought I’d sell the Spark to help recoup some cost but felt sad to get rid of my original bird. Well, now that I’ve flown the Platinum a few times that feeling is fading haha. This thing is phenomenal from how quiet it is to how smooth and stabile it flies. I’m super happy I bought it now and look forward to learning much more about it. I’ve already watched tons of YouTube clips about it and am super stoked to learn all I can.

Just got started with a platinum and love it. Was originally thinking of getting a zoom, but ultimately decided on getting a platinum because the prices on the used market went down enough for me to pull the trigger and grab one.

I fly both a Spark (my first drone) and a Mavic Pro. When I fly for video quality I go with the Mavic Pro but when I fly just for fun then I reach for the Spark. Also, I found the Spark is a better travel drone and performs better in tight spaces due to its size.

Apologies for bumping the thread one step to include the new Mavic Pro 2.

We have a new Mavic Air Fly More package and it has performed perfectly. We are very happy, but occasionally get the urge to jump to a Mavic Pro Platinum like the thread is discussing. However... we are fortunately in a fiscal position to go all out with the newer Mavic Pro 2 IF that makes more sense.

We've pretty much ruled out the newer version based on the age old: "Give them time to eliminate the glitches."

So Folks, whaddaboudit?

Principal usage: rec flying with heavy emphasis on pix. Is the MP Platinum good enough to notice a significant difference in Flight, risk a BIG jump to the newer MP Hasselblad, or stick with the Mavic Air?

Btw: We're a retired Photojournalist, with lengthy photographic experience.
