Usb on MPP controller not connecting

Can’t seem to get the usb port to connect. Tried w micro removed completely and still no connection.

Make sure your cable is not charge only. Try using the data cable that came with your device.

Oddly enuff I had a FW update and it worked afterwards.

I am not familiar with USB "charge" vs "data" cable. I though all USB cables were wired that same. How can I tell the difference.

Inexpensive cables you may find at gas stations or grocery stores are usually charge only. They have fewer conductors so they cost less to make and sell. You can tell by plugging your device into a computer. If it is not recognized or cannot transfer data it is not a data cable (or it is faulty).
