Cold weather is coming soon. Has anyone ever tried splitting the connection out of the iphone while connected to the MP (or MPP) RC, with the other port going to a battery pack?

I don't want to charge the RC; I want to charge the iPhone.

Me too, it´s pretty anoying that the RC tries to charge the iPhone when using the bottom USB but not seems to be powerfull enough! :-(

Ah yes, I use android and with that the RC charges the phone, forgot iOS doesn't do it.

Ah, the proverbial ‘rock and a hard place’. Apple are the recommended devices to be used however I used a galaxy Note 8 without issue. One might argue that the more powerful the device the less chance you have of the device failing during mid-flight. The other option is to keep a dedicated device fully charged.

You could always try something like this: http://amzn.eu/iGdpO1l

Apparently allows you to charge and connect data through one lightning cable. Don't ask me if they work, I don't even own an iPhone! ;)

I've seen those, but don't want to fry either the iPhone, the RC, or both, trying it out. I was hoping a soul braver than myself has gone forth and tried.
