Hi all got a bit of a road trip again in the USA in may/June next year mainly Colorado/Utah.
can i fly my DJI Air2s without any issues whilst there ?
i have insurance and i have my A2cofc and i am a member of FPV UK.
is there anything i need to do or be aware of .

The world in Colorado and Utah is beyond breathtakingly beautiful.......some of the most beautiful areas, you will find inside of the many National Parks in those states ...unfortunately you will see signs like thisDSCN5449.JPG but don't be discouraged...just bring your regular photography gear and you will get some fantastic photos, anyway.
Aside the TRUST cert you will need to register that drone, as it exceeds the 250 gram ...go to this site.....you will also see access to the TRUST cert test here also

Is Bryce Canyon drone flight prohibited?

So let me get this correct please tell me if i am wrong ,i get the trust cert and as long as i have not driven into a national park site i can fly ?

Also what about the flyer id thing i don't think my drone has it as its on an older firmware ,and i dont wish to update any further as its just perfect as it is .

There are external RID modules that you can attach to what you fly with costs not exceeding 50.00. With that comes some interaction with the FAA and registering that device. Fly safe and you should be fine.

Rule #1) To fly a drone you need TRUST Certificate ( you have to take a short test that you cannot fail to get this...the test is based on the "rules of the skies"
#2) If drone exceeds 250 grams it must be registered
#3) Registered drones mus be RID compliant
#4) No operating drones from inside National Parks
Monument Valley is also in that vicinity, and although not a National Park it is off limits as it is part of the Navajo Nation...sacred land to the Native Americans....if you get to see it, you will understand whyDSC_0649.JPG

Much of Utah and Colorado have scenic areas that are gorgeous to film and are not in national parks. I have one example in a recent post about Castle Valley Road near Moab.Scroll down on this post to the end to similar threads. Spend some time on Google maps using the "control+mouse drag" to view in 3D. (Mac). Try searching around the edges of the parks with Google maps and CTRL+mouse drag. There will be more gorgeous scenery than your SD card can hold!

quick question here in the UK we use an app called drone safe ,its very good and it will show exactly where you are are. its there to see if you can fly there or not covers the whole of the UK .....its brilliant use it constantly .
