Magnificent history, what incredible stories that Hornet would hold to many.

I had a thought it’d been sunk in WWII, and indeed the 7th Hornet namesake was, not far from Australia (Solomons).
This is Hornet number 8.

No. I did not get LAANC authorization. I asked permission from a receptionist onboard it. She was kind and told me that it Is okay to take pictures. Thanks for the response.

The FAA disagrees with the receptionist.

Have a look at the location on the B4YOUFLY app. Flights there definitely require LAANC authorization, and with an authorization, altitude is limited to 200 feet AGL.
