Hi, so i dont have micro sd card for my mavic 2 pro. I will use tablet ipad 2018 as my recording device. Can i store videos and pictures on it? Will the quality of content suffer in that case? It will be done automatically or i must change some settings?
Greetings.

The Pro 2 is sold with an SD card also, SD cards are inexpensive. Not sure why you would not be using one. Not sure why you'd buy a $1200 drone and not get a $10 SD card.

Video quality will be greatly limited if you use the display device. I won't even be close. Spend the $10 and get an SD card. It might not allow recording of video at 4k but it should allow 1080 at least.

*Edit, just saw tat other people already replied, sorry for doubling on information

Hi Macius,
The way the Mavic (and probably all other DJI drones) work is that they store the recorded data (photo's videos) on the SD card aboard the drone.
However, they also stream the video signal from the camera to your device via the remote connection. You can imagine that the stability of that stream is highly dependent on the strength/robustness of that remote connection. Whenever the signal becomes weak, the priority is given to control inputs, rather than the video signal. Now, the app enables you to store the video stream from the remote connection in the cache of your device, and then you can "download" (basically move it to the photo roll or photo app) that.

Now, the quality of that stream is already lower than the one stored on the SD card aboard the drone. On top of that, it may contain hickups due to bad connections.

Do you want to buy a $1000,- drone, yet save a few bucks on an SD card?
So far for the unrequested good advice. To answer your questions more bluntly:
You can store the data on the ipad (after filming, go to the editor and click on the download icon), but the quality will suffer hugely, and it does require manual clicking.

Doesnt the mav 2 have 8gb internal storage and can support up to 128gd card?

Macius, the mavic 2 pro has 8 gigs of on board storage, so technically you do not need to have an additional card. However, the amount you can do with 8 gigs is limited some. If you only plan on doing still photography and low resolution video then this should be plenty for you. If however you want to shoot UHD video (4K) then you will want to add an SD
Card to the unit with a U3 speed rating 100 MBPS write speed or better. Make sure you get a U3 card and not a U1 card because it will not be able to write to the card fast enough to support smooth 4K video otherwise. U1 cards should do 1080p alright though. Hope this helps, good luck!View attachment 45543

Ive got an issue where no matter what SD card i use it says "too slow for 4k" (but records 4k anyway).
Even a brand new, confirmed genuine Sandisk Extreme Plus V30 (U3 A1)

I do not have this issue.

My M2 Pro did not come with a SD card.
People who have received their MP2's might want to mention if their came with a card. While the "In the Box" from DJI does not mention a card, they don't list them on any drone. I know the past 5 that I've bought all came with a card, including the Air with 8GB built in storage. I really think the MP2 should come with a card. You may want to contact the seller that you bought it from and ask about this.

Is your video nice and smooth on playback? Mike said the same thing, recorded anyways and the playback was unusable. I had forgotten that the M2 has an increased bit rate and only had a U1 card. I need to buy a new one.

Ive tried 5 cards, all say "too slow for 4k" (but all seem to work just fine). This U3 extreme plus really should not say that but it does.
