Hello all,

I am new here. I will save you all the back story. Finally found a drone that works for me, Mavic Pro. Awesome drone. I am having a bit of trouble with the video. At first it was choppy and would jump several seconds when played back, I was recording in .MOV format. I changed to .MPEG4 format and that cured the focus issues and jerky video. I am now having dificulty finding a decent editing program. Nothing will play the video once transfered to my laptop. Also, the only audio I get is when I play it back on my phone, a Samsung Note 4, Android. Any suggestions? I do not need an expensive pro type editor but do need some more than just point and click type inputs. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum.

For playback try VLC. I have found it to be the best software for handling video files.

As for editing software it all depends on how much you want to spend. I use Adobe Premiere, it offers just about every feature I need and then some. I really like the Proxy server ability which allows me to work with 4K files in any resolution my PC can handle. After I do all the editing it uses the original 4K files to make the final 4K video with all the edits included. Also it has dozens of formats that you can convert the final video into.

There is some freeware stuff that others can recommend. I have not tried any of them.

The Mavic doesn't record audio...the soundtrack you're getting is what's recorded with the mic in your phone, and it doesn't record to the sd card.

DaVinci Resolve 14 (free version) works very well also and is optimized for less powerful machines. Advanced editors do have a bit of a learning curve though.
