Video playback stuttering on Windows med plyr

Frustrating....not sure if my laptop can't handle the footage I shoot with the Mavic Pro for through windows media player it stutters....I don't get a smooth relay.
Tried tweaking settings as much as possible to no avail.
It's fine for my Gopro equipment and Sony 600d slr camera.
Any advice lads before I throw it out of the Window!!

Download and try VLC Media player - Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN
It's a lot better than the Microsoft 'basic' player, and even has the ability to pick up the h.265 codec to play Pro 2 vid's.

How old is your laptop and what processor does it have? Are you having trouble with all the video from your Mavic, or just the higher rates like 4K?

If you're having trouble with 4K video only , then I'm guessing that your laptop just can't handle it. In which case VLC won't help much.. But it won't hurt to try it. (I'm a VLC fan. It's a pretty versatile bit of software).

I think it's time for a new laptop.... It doesn't hold 4k tech with it being 7 yrs old.
The VLC software couldn't hold it either.

Ah - now you mention the age yes ... you'd be lucky to have even a dual-core processor in that!

Yerp....I've been pricing a few up today at local retailers... A decent HP has a tag of £500-700+...it'll have to wait though for I'm saving my pennies for a new motorcycle come summer.
Wandering if a tablet could do the job...I want to shoot and edit video for personal and family eyes only.
Might take a gander at that option.
