It just occurred to me today that today's locomotives are driven by an independent electric motor on each drive wheel. The electricity for these motors is produced by on-board generators. I am sure that they produce a large amount of electro-magnetic disturbance.

This video should put them behind bars for a long long time.
The magnetic field around Diesel Electric Locomotives is big and they use huge traction motors with VA loads that are jaw dropping. I was an Electronics Tech with the Railroad and getting within 50' of a locomotive is asking for a com link disruption. When trackside in the RR truck, the screen on the laptop would rock and roll bobbing like a boat on waves as the locomotives passed by. There is a lot of wind turbulence around the entire length of the train, especially around container double stacks, they can suck you in.
