how do I view my SD card video on my Mac? Mac Quicktime does not support mp4 video.
I convert videos from mp2 to mp4 so they play on the Mac and never had a problem.
You may need a mp4 codec to play them.
Elmedia and VLC are 2 players, both free.

QuickTime does support .mp4 but it depends on the codec used. The mp4 file is a container for the audio and video data. The video/audio data is encoded in one of several codec formats. H.264 will play in QuickTime but not H.265. Both are selectable options for your camera recording and may currently be set for H.265.

VLC media player can play most video formats but older Macs will struggle to play H.265.

Wow, QuickTime is taking me back. I haven't had to work with that program in a few years.

VLC is the way to go.

Did you try changing your clip to XXXX.MOV? .MOV is the preferred format for Mac OS. Also, if you are using the MAC change the settings to .MOV on the settings.
