What About No Cell Service

Hey All...I'm considering flying my Mavic Pro in an area without cell service for the first time. Do you have any advice or warnings about this scenario? I prefer to learn "the easy way" (from OTHERS') mistakes

You don't need cell service to fly if you're not going to use any DJI GO features that require an Internet connection (like downloading the maps or streaming video to YouTube).

If you need the maps that are provided within DJIGO4 then you can open google maps and navigate to the area you plan to fly. Zoom in and out and those maps will be "cached" to the device. When you visit the area to fly then the maps will be visible and accurate.

So if my ipad mini does not have cell connection (no sim card available through my carrier) GPS and RTH will still work as intended from the drone? (only had this thing for a few weeks but learning tons from all who post) Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes. The Mavic uses its internal GPS receiver to locate the home point.

Just make sure to hover for a minute after liftoff and listen for : "Home Point has been recorded"
