Interested to hear what configuration you guys are using for six configurable buttons on the remote. Currently I have this setup:

C1 - Focus
C2 - Lights
5D Button:
Directional Up - Lower gimbal (Click again to reset to forwards facing)
Directional Left - Lower Aperture
Directional Right - Increase Aperture
Directional Down - Not used

Primary use for me is photography over video, usually taking pictures in manual mode.

You don't have to waste a C button for Focus. If you tap the shutter button it will focus the same way:

I have on C1: "Delete wind warning" or whatever it is called.
I hate these warnings constantly popping up...

C1- Gimbal up/down/recenter
C2- Close tips

5 way up - EV/Shutter lighter
5 way down - EV/Shutter darker
Don't really use the rest.

Turns out the "close tips" on C2 is the button that gets the most action. Don't have to take a hand off the controller to close all the "High Wind" and other warnings.

I'm not a video person and use it mostly for photos (and fun).

C1 - Gimbal - Camera up / down
C2 - Close Tips
5D Button:
Directional Up / Down - Shutter Speed
Directional Left / Right - Aperture

Gimbal Dial (#13 in the manual) Controls the camera's tilt.
I wish the other Gimbal Dial (#17 in the manual) could be assigned to the camera pan. Seems stuck on Apeture.
The only way I see to pan the camera is using the touch screen. That's kind of a joke as it is virtually impossible to pan it without changing the tilt by accident.
If we could assign pan to the other dial on the right, pan and tilt would be on the two dials.

I wish they also had a camera reset option that would bring it back to level horizon and center the pan in one click. An added plus would be if we could set a return speed for the reset.
Right now if you tilt the camera at all, you have to hit the gimbal reset twice to get back to horizontal. First time 90 degrees down, the second back to horizontal.

This is a beneficial thread to me since I just got my Mavic and trying to decide what to assign the custtoms buttons to.

It seems intuitive to me to have 5D buton Up increase aperture and button down decrease aperture.

Finally... An explanation of what that menu item actually is. I wouldn't call a high wind warning a "tip". I'd call it an... alert, or a warning, or something else. Leave it to those pesky Chinese programmers who don't realize that "close" could mean "really near" and "tips" could be the ends of things, whatever that might be on a drone and that when moving an unmanned vehicle up to 45mph your instructions and guidance ought to be as direct and umistakeably literal as possible to avoid confusion. They get a fail in this area. As an illustrious radio talk show host is quoted: "WORDS MEAN THINGS".
