It means that your position is recorded in memory if and when you push the button RTH (return to home) so the drone will fly back to where you started from regarding to the GPS position.

That's a pretty basic and important concept for a Mavic. I highly recommend downloading the full user manual and going over it thoroughly.

Besides right location on the map, ensure right orientation of your drone direction on the map.
This is where most flyaways can occur when orientation on the ground doesn’t match how it appears on the map.

For precision landing to be set, you then need to take the Mavic straight up ~ 10m and get that screen notification.
Precision landing is optional though, you can fly ok without that set, but it’s nice for RTH almost landing on the exact spot and orientation it took off from.
