Where to fly in the Bay Area.

Hi, I am looking for places to fly my drone in the Bay Area. Does anyone have suggestions for scenic locations in the Bay Area?

I'm having the same issues of trying to find places to fly over in Sacramento. It's a pain, everywhere is either a no fly zone or drones prohibited. I hope your able to find places in the bay.

Treasure island is a nice spot. On a good day, minimal wind, I've heard its possible to fly to Alcatraz, and do a little filming.

Use AirMap (for free). You'll be pleased to see that most of the city and area are legal.

One of the most picturesque spots is at McWay Falls near Big Sur. Beautiful waterfall! Beautiful coastline!

Head over to the delta. I film there all the time. Mostly farm land, lots of boats, occasional ships, windmills, all kinds of interesting things. I work in Martinez and live in Stockton so I travel across the delta on my commute. I have gotten tons of great video in that area.

This is correct, If you get caught its probably a nice fine as well as a bad name for drones...

Im new to this forum but been flying for a while. Anyone running into lots of problems getting approval from airmaps but not from local authorities? is there a better way to check for no drone zones?
